Kasmin is pleased to participate in Design Miami/Shop, a new online sales platform launching June 25, 2020. Featuring work by JB Blunk, Mattia Bonetti, Saint Clair Cemin, Les Lalanne, Jasper Morrison, and David Wiseman, the presentation draws from the gallery programme to celebrate the intersection of design and fine art.

Since its opening in 1989, Kasmin has exhibited work by artists whose steadfast dedication to their unique artistic vision allows them to transcend traditional taxonomies. Paul Kasmin introduced the french sculptor duo Les Lalanne to North America in 2007 and the gallery has since staged 13 exhibitions of their work both in Chelsea and offsite at Park Avenue and Fairchild Botanic Garden. Saint Clair Cemin cannibalizes the history of sculpture, as well as its many styles and techniques, to invent forms that span the vast expanse of the visual universe—his 2018 exhibition Oedipus included both large-scale abstract sculptures and smaller narrative works. In 2012, Cemin's New York public art debut featured seven outdoor sculptures spanning 100 Blocks on Broadway. Mattia Bonetti’s designs, which merge the more ornate aspects of 17th century European architecture and sculpture with the surrealist visions of early 20th century painting, were presented in December 2018 at DesignMiami/. In 2019, David Wiseman’s exhibition Plants, Minerals, and Animals reiterated the relevance ornament and beauty can play in contemporary architecture and life. More recently, the gallery presented a critically-acclaimed showcase of editioned cork furniture from world-renowned industrial designer Jasper Morrison. Upcoming at the gallery, the first New York exhibition of work by California craftsman JB Blunk will take place in Fall 2020.

The partnership with DesignMiami/ further develops Kasmin’s ability to connect directly with audiences on digital platforms during an age of social distancing. Available online through the remainder of 2020, the presentation will be updated regularly to offer clients the highest quality work from these artists and master craftsmen.
