SANTI MOIX

Born in Barcelona, Spain 1960

Lives and works in New York, New York

Santi Moix’s paintings explore biomorphic forms, ebbing between identifiable flora and fauna to more abstracted forays  in color and form.  His studies and work have brought him from Barcelona to Paris to New York, the influences of which can be seen in his ouevre. Moix’s  Recent solo exhibitions include “Brooklyn Studio,” M77 Gallery, Milan, Italy; “Santi Moix on Huckleberry Finn: Watercolors and Wall Drawings,” Paul Kasmin Gallery, New York; and “Las Aventuras de Huckleberry Finn,” Centro Cultural Fundación Círculo de Lectores, Barcelona, Spain. In 2013 he was commissioned for a 200-foot mural at Prada’s SoHo Epicenter. Most recently he returned to Barcelone to paint frescos throughout the interior of a thousand year old Romanesque church opening to the public this past summer. His work is included in numerous private and public collections including the Brooklyn Museum, New York, Museu de Arte Moderna de São Paulo, Brazil and the Weatherspoon Art Museum, North Carolina.
