Paul Kasmin Gallery is pleased to announce the launch of PK Editions, a new division of the gallery dedicated to significant limited edition prints. In keeping with the Paul Kasmin Gallery program, PK Editions will be a source for innovative new prints by contemporary living artists, as well as curated presentations of works by important post-war American and European artists.
The inaugural digital exhibition on PK Editions, entitled Robert Motherwell: Printing as Collaboration, will exist in three parts and focus on the printmaking career of Robert Motherwell, one of the most important graphic artists of the 20th century. Focusing on the artist’s extended relationships with three different printmakers – Irwin Hollander, Ken Tyler and Catherine Mosley – each exhibition will include a curated selection of works made in collaboration with the printer. The works will be historically contextualized by extensive archival material in the form of articles, commentary, images, interviews and texts.
Following Robert Motherwell: Printing as Collaboration, PK Editions will present a series of curated digital exhibitions focusing on the printmaking careers of David Hockney, Jules Olitski and other post-war masters, and will also release new editions by gallery artists such as Walton Ford, Deborah Kass and Mark Ryden.
